Priorities

We live in a world of many options
We have minds full of thoughts and many different notions
Dreaming of future vocations, making relations
Living life to the max and retiring with a pension

But what does life consist of; what’s your true perception
How about a nice house and 2 or 3 vacations
Buy a car, play golf, work hard and earn some cash
That’s fine; but tell me, have you ever eaten someone’s trash

In this time, countless people live in degradation
No clothes, no shoes, no food, lacking life vital medication
Let alone a car or house or any education
And all the while the wealthy struck by self-fixation

It’s good to work hard and have some life
You can’t put that down, A man can have a wife
And a family and live, but evil in this world is rife
Just maybe, more of our hearts should be focused on the after-life

Innocence is so far gone, there’s no time for pretence
The world’s in desperate need of Truth and common sense
While we sit on the fence and evil stays intense
Our conscience should be smashed, God must be incensed

So this is about priorities, what we do each day
We have to meet our needs, time won’t give way
But so many need medicine and food or they will die
We have it but it seems we’d rather say goodbye

Tell me: Desperate people or Desperate Housewives
What do we love more; the truth is written with our lives
Much good is done but so much more is calling
We have the power of God with us so why are we stalling

We shouldn’t play the blame game or wallow in shame
But could it be that there’s another way to play life’s game
Maybe the answer to our own spiritual needs and lives
Is found in helping others live – that’s life that thrives
